Program Overview:

Nagoya University of Economics (NUE) educate the future leaders of Japan and Asia.

For over 100 years NUE have been helping our students cultivate the skills of “advanced learning” and “practical application,” critical elements for future success.

Its campus, where 338 international students representing 14 countries and regions are studying (15% of all students are non-Japanese), gives them cross-cultural communication which leads to new learning. International students are the mainstay of NUE.

All courses at NUE are conducted in Japanese. However, to brush up Japanese language proficiency of international students, we offer them Japanese language education curriculum throughout all four years of university. Language classes are organized by ability and level which enables oversees students to develop fluency and proficiency.

In addition, broad support is offered to help oversees students obtain compulsory Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) qualifications, bookkeeping subjects, and other qualifications helpful for their employment. Trying to obtain many different certifications and studying to pass certification examinations such as MOS, the Official Business Skill Test in Bookkeeping, Registered Seller, Administrative Scrivener, Financial Planner, Registered Real Broker, etc., will foster professionalism linked to the achievement of goals. As a result, 100% job placement success rate four years in a row for students seeking employment in Japan.

Many students receive scholarships. NUE provides full support and guidance for scholarship applications and interviews, and no limits on university-sponsored scholarships. Scholarship amounts range from 10,000 yen to 600,000 yen. A new support system reducing or exempting annual tuition by up to 50% is available for international students with outstanding scholastic achievements.

Global and shared house type dormitory has been opened with the objective of supporting international students in adapting to life in Japan and of actively interacting with Japanese students.
